When a RecovR Locator has not been marked Sold and has not reported in a Zone (rooftop geofence) for 2 consecutive weeks, we disable the device, in accordance with Consumer Privacy regulations. Generally, this happens when the vehicle was sold without RecovR, but the device was not removed.
Locators can be retrieved in the future for a Found Credit (if already invoiced and the invoice is paid) or retrieved before the invoice generates to cancel the charge.
If you have loaner or demo vehicles getting tagged as lost; please email those VINS to [email protected] and we can give them a special category that allows them to be offsite longer than 2 weeks before going lost. If you have recently added a new overflow lot or started using a new 3rd party service provider, please create zones for those areas! This lets the locator know that it is in a trusted location and that the vehicle is still part of your inventory.
